1099 vendor

A 1099 vendor is a contractor or non-incorporated service provider to whom a business paid $600 or more in a calendar year, requiring a Form 1099-NEC to be filed with the IRS.

1099 readiness is the year-end scramble every bookkeeper dreads — tracking down W-9s, verifying vendor classifications, and making sure every reportable vendor is properly documented. Invoice Auditor continuously monitors the vendor list, flagging active contractors who are missing tax documentation or proper classification. It doesn't file 1099s — it's a diagnostic that ensures your records are ready for filing long before January, so you're not chasing vendors who may no longer be active.
